Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles is an unofficial game in the Castlevania saga. Despite being developed by a fan of the franchise, it'll give you an equal gaming experience or, perhaps, outdo many of Konami's official releases.
With there being no other option, Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles keeps true to the 'metroidvania' gameplay inherent in the saga. That means that you can move freely around the two-dimensional levels while fighting off hordes of unique enemies using your whip and special throwing items.
A noteworthy difference between The Lecarde Chronicles and other Castlevania games is that you'll have a neutral town that you can visit at anytime. Once there, you can rest, talk to the town's inhabitants, and take on some side quests.
Visually, Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles also holes up a pleasing surprise since, instead of reusing other games' sprites, it relies on originally spectacular graphics that bestows fairly high resolution graphics.
Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles is an overachieving game that doesn't need to envy the rest of the Konami's saga's games because, without doubt, it is one of the best unofficial Castlevania games out there.
